Album Description:

The majority of these photos are taken in an area of Queensland in Australia called the Sunshine Coast.The first set (up to one Titled "Strangle Hold") are taken in the Kondilla National Park near Montville.From then on its Mary Cairncross Reserve.

  • It is so serene, wonderfully enchanting and very beautiful here Rick! Your work is exquisite! Rainforests are a challenge to photograph as the green colours are so predominate they usually cause the images to appear flat. Yet yours are filled with soul, with warm ambient filtered through the canopy light and wonderful tonal qualities, fantastic texture, depth and dimension! The enormous tree sentries are powerful and so majestic!! I can imagine the air is sweet, dense with humidity, rich with organics and so alive!! All around there is so much beauty!! It is a peaceful journey Rick, one I enjoy lingering with and will return to again and again, and I absolutely adore your titles!!   • These images are fabulous, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Congratulations on your featured album! I think that if I lived near either of these locations I'd be visiting every day. You could spend a whole lifetime photographing these places and never have take the same picture twice. Our rainforests here in Vancouver Canada are also very lovely, but the colours are quite drab this time of year so I'll wait until spring to capture the true magic of the forest at my back door.   • I really enjoyed your album. It brought back memories of visiting Queensland. The forests were so beautiful and the animals so different from ours in the States. We have rainforests in Washington State near Seattle as well. My Bloedel Reserve collection is a featured album today and gives you an idea the rainforests of the Pacific NW. There are similarities to yours, but it's certainly not tropical here! Wet--- yes... warm --- NO! Today is below freezing and we expect a little snow by the weekend. Melanie in Seattle
