Dear Eric! We are off on the 1st Jan to Antarctica! How time flies! In the mean time, I have been reading a lot about the voyage etc. The recurring theme seems to be bad weather, gales and the horrendous churning during the crossing of Drake's passage. Both of us are prone to sea sickness! Is the journey to Abtarctica as bad as it is made out to be ? Or is it just the worst case scenario? What you lived there on the coast, observing this sympathetic invasion, if of course a hundred times more worth than sitting in front of the TV (even withs a nature program). We have the impression that you spent there a night...? Also, through several visits, you could observe changing compositions and behaviour.
