Maria, Thanks so much for your recent visit to my Sea lion album. I lived in Monterey about 4 years ago and loved it! I was just behind the Hilton and MPC (where I received my Nursing license). I had to move out of the area for financial and personal reasons but I always love my visits there! I plan to move back to either the Monterey or Capitola area in about a year or so. I took those photos right off the breakwater past the wharf (walking down the path towards Pacific grove from the wharf). AND I can't believe you wrote that you are reluctant to post your sealion photos or that you think mine are better!!! You are either nuts or being way to modest! You take some of the most spectacular photography I have ever seen! The ones in this album are a perfect example of that! And , of course, I know the "chicken' thing was a joke. I hope you didn't think I took it seriously with my response. I'm used to all the fun teasing that goes on here, especially between the taters. And I like it. :). Hugs right back to you! ~ Jess

Your beautiful and powerful scenes of the ocean caused me to consider the weight and force of water. 1 cu foot water = 62.42718356 pounds. 1 cubic mile = 147,197,952,000 cubic feet. So multiplying 62.42718356 pounds (water) times 147,197,952,000 cubic feet (in a cubic mile) entered into my calculator caused it to explode - and laid me out on the floor dazed, pieces of it everywhere !!! But, one can see it would be a pretty heavy force!!! And add increased weight from the force of "surging water" - would even be a more impressive figure! Hi Maria, Thanks for your Ferrari comments. Actually old Buicks are my favorite. Take a peek at my Buick album. My daily driver is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited and my off road vehicle is well equipped 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I got into off roading because one could'nt reach photographic spots from paved roads. Hi Maria, Don't know how to contact you except here. The picture you saw is an Albaster White LDS (Mormon)Temple where I live now - Bountiful, Utah. It is on a mounainside and stands out for miles around. I can see it from my living room window. -- Bountiul is a suburb of Salt Lake City - 12 minutes away on the freeway. (My son took the photo when viiting from Virginia. He took his children up there to watch the sunset on the Great Salt Lake) I am handicapped due to illness and can walk but only a short distance (like 20 feet!) I lived in Monterey for 2 years when I was younger and later in Saratoga, Sunnyvale and Escondido, California - as an adult. Monterey and Carmel are my favorite places. I miss the ocean which always seemed to speak to my soul. It seems to speak to yours too! So I thank you Maria for sharing your walks with me (and the world). I have so many of your pictures on my computer screen saver - running all the time. Thanks so much for brightening my life - wish I could do as much for YOU. Gail
