• Mummy duck and Daddy duck look for food for the family.
  • Baby duck falls behind.
  • But Mummy duck and Daddy duck paddle far away.
  • So Baby duck takes a short cut.
  • Baby duck gets lost and tired. It thinks "This walking business is for the birds!"
  • Mummy duck  goes back to find baby duck.
  • Baby duck asks Mummy duck asks "Which way do I go?".
  • Mum points down with her beak, between the logs, to show Baby the way.
  • Mummy goes back to Daddy duck. Baby looks before . . .
  •  . . . it leaps in to the water between the logs.
  • Then baby paddles on and catches up with Mummy and Daddy duck.
  • A Blue Wren was watching.
  •  It looks at us to see if we saw what happened.
  • After a few dips and sips of water, the Wren flies off . . .
  • . . . first, to see what's up the river . . .
  • and later,  to see what's down the river.
