  • Lois, I think this is a wonderful collection of images. I got to about #26 when my interest started to fade. With an attention span like mine that's a good rating on your part. I really do enjoy the imagery and the muted color. I will give you some tips you may already know but from the depths of my masterful knowledge here goes. #1 Always keep them guessing. Never be too obvious with the tools you may be using. I always apply the tool then back it off a bit until it is just right. I like to actually see all of my options, so try everything and see what happens. Push it all the way in either direction to find out your borders. How loud can you turn the stereo up until the amp starts to clip and distort. That is the upper limit. It works the same way in the quieter direction. #3 Make bad pictures then trash them. We need to get the bad ones out of our system. Sometimes it's easier to make good pictures once you learn how to make bad ones. That's what I did in art school so many years ago. Art students spend their parents money creating terrible work. Hopefully they will have sated themselves by the time commencement arrives. They may have a chance then to continue in their poorly chosen field. But that's another story. As you know I was an insurance agent not an artist. #5 Use what you like and know often until you develope a pattern of tasks for each image. That will be your platform to build upon. Don't get stuck with any one illusion or tool for very long. They can be infatuating until someone wakes you from your golden revelry and tells you to quit putting in fake skies. How that for some tips eh? Just write me at my email Hepschlep@yahoo.com We can discuss this further if you'd like. Your request is flattering and I thank you Lois, Warm Regards, Hepschlep aka jamieO

  • Dear Lois this is a wonderful work. You have done pieces of art, instead of just photography. The basis, the photo is already very good, but your work on it enhaced it so much, that Monet, Van Gogh and others appeared in my mind! Congratulations, keep going! Jamie knows a lot, a lot about photoshop, and this kind of art. Follow his advice:))

  • Lois, this album was a lot of fun to go through. You have such a great imagination, I loved how you changed your photo captures into what you would see in an art gallery. Thanks so much for sharing these with us. ~Deb & Rick~

  • Hi Lois. First of all thanks for the invitation to this wonderful album. As you know I love this kind of photography, where you take a good picture and give it a bit of interest digitally. I think Jamie O is right in his advice and you want to try different methods for each picture. However, I loved the whole album. Very interesting and I think I would love to take the journey from your cabin to your home. Looks like a fascinating journey.....warm hugs, Marion

  • Oh yes, Lois, I heartily agree with John Constable. Beauty, after all, IS, in some form or other, in the eye of the beholder. PS: Strange "Hicking" noises coming from under my feet! Aha! It's Benjie having a lovely barking dream! hugs. Margaret
