An excellent set of pictures John despite the cloud being down on the summits and a good route description on the OFC. Many thanks, Dave B (ofc)

Good set despite the weather. Have done parts of this walk but not the Black Sail route, so now off to consult a map. Thanks. Sue.

Cheers, Sue. The path down the Black Sails ridge is virually all on grass at an easy gradient. The views are far better than from the Lad Stones ridge - first because the ridge is narrower and second because Old Man to Swirl How Ridge and the cliffs below are much closer and are seen at their best. All in all a delightful descent, whether you finish as I did down Boulder Valley or via Coppermines Valley if headed for Coniston.

A great walk John and a fair bit of snow about. You will have to do it again with Jo and I on a sunny day so I can see the view from the summit. It was thick cloud last time (the only time) I did Wetherlam with you. Jill

Its much nicer going via Boo Tarn to the Old Man. Speaking of which my old man enjoyed that route too except we started in Coniston and came off via Lad Stones. See you soon, Andrew.

Nice photos of an interesting route. Looking forward to doing Wetherlam with you and Jill ... in sunshine, of course! Jo
