Album Description:

Day 2 of Helmut's walk across the fells of Lakeland. After the drama of Sharp Edge yesterday, my job on this walk was to help Helmut navigate from the gentler surroundings of Tewet Tarn and Low Rigg, over High Rigg and then via Shoulthwaite Gill to Bleab

  • Lance, I took the Mountain Leadership Certificate many (40?)years ago so I could help a friend take Cheshire Schoolchildren out walking and rock climbing. Had I made a living at it I would have been happy to do so. But these days I prefer to walk as and when the mood takes me. A bit of guiding for a friend like Helmut is one thing - doing it as a second source of income might remove much of the fun I get from walking. Mind you, if bread ever gets to £2 per loaf and petrol to £2 per litre then I might have to expand my income a bit!

  • Hi John Guiding could be a good way to boost your pension any thoughts? Regards Lance

  • Well he certainly had a good day for his route through the boggy central spine! He does get up close and personal with the flora too! Macro-tastic! Cheers, Andrew
