This is a spectatular album! Every pictures is a awww moment. I love taking pictures of ducks, geese and swans. You must be fortunate to have them on your property or close by to get so many wonderful opportunities for the shots you have taken. I would have loved to make a comment under each photo, but having to type the security word for each time is too much. Your shots are so crisp and in focus and the color and lighting just perfect. Wow Lynnie, what a fantastic album!!! I wish I could talk to you to hear how you got all of these. You must have one great telephoto lens to get some of those close ups. Was it just luck that you were there for the "hatchings"? I know those geese can get pretty nasty if you get too close. Once, I had a swan chase me because I was too close to her nest. Good job!!! These pictures took my breath away! You have such a keen eye with the camera and the subjects are adorable!I hope one day that I can move on to a more sophisticated camera to be able to take shots like these. Lyn, an FYI about geese here in Canada for you. There was more in our local paper this morning on the negative side. "A Canada goose population explosion is sweeping across North America. Unprecedented goose overabundance is plaguing many areas of the continent with unanticipated and largely irreparable and irresolvable problems. Soaring numbers of resident, and mainly urban, Canada geese are the focus of rapidly rising international concern. A recent Ducks Unlimited report, by biologist Matt Young, claims "the era of booming Canada goose populations," is causing significant problems, especially in urban areas. There are now more Canada geese in North America than at any time in recorded history, according to the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. There has been a fivefold increase in North American Canada goose populations since 1970, reports Richard Dolber of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. The exceptional growth is due primarily to a 15-fold increase in resident non-migratory geese in the past 30 years, to 67% from 18%." CANWEST
