You lucky Girl!! I have to confess I was asleep, so although I was in Loweswater, I missed the beautiful sunrise - thank you for showing me what it looked like;-) Rachel

Wonderful photos, Jayne! Definitely worth getting up at the crack of dawn to get these shots. Hope you get to Coledale Hause next year and enjoy the experience there. Jo

These shots are stunning Jayne. I too took some photos of the dawn but they are nowhere near as good as these. I didn't venture out of the bedroom! A lovely album. Jill

Woke early and was able to take these pictures from the garden. Skiddaw looked wonderful as the light constantly changed and there was the unexpected bonus of a small inversion over the river and surrounding fields. This was "it" for the Solstice, later in the day high winds arrived with some (much needed) rain. If it had been warmer/I was not so tired/so disorganised then I would like to have been at Coledale Hause for sunrise, that is certainly the plan for next year!
