Hi John, I enjoyed your travails in Skew Gill, a shame that Polly couldn't be assisted up that last pitch but safety first in any case! She's up for most things bless her..! Andrew

Hi John - a fantastic scramble well documented by the photos. I wonder how wet Wainwright got? Not sure why your walk is linked to the main site by a picture of a stretcher box ;-} Sue

I would have done it ok - it was having Polly with me which made it impossible. Even in the dry there was no way she would have managed it. Too steep, too small holds and not enough ledges for me to lift Polly on to. :(

Great walk John. Pity you couldn't manage the last pitch although it did look a bit wet. I must give that one a try.

Very impressive John, not a route that I have considered een before athritic fingers and wrists came along. Polly is a little gem. Regards, DaveB (ofc)

Hi John. What a super Album and I even recognised some of the places in the pictures. Not the Gill though that looked wet, slippy and scary, what a great wee dog to walk with. Frances

Hi John. Great photos. Looked like an exciting scramble, though I am glad you stopped short of the end of the gully when it got a bit tough for Polly! Hope to do another Unfrequented Wainwright with you soon ... Jo

Dear John, Well Polly gets full marks from me, what a great wee dog she is to even have got that far up Skew Gill. I really enjoyed your account of the day and the pictures complete the image I had of what it was like. Just yesterday I booked a cottage, first week in September staying in Ambleside. Hope we can meet up sometime during that week and maybe you can take us on one of your exciting routes! Maybe not Skew Gill though eh ;o) LOL Take care now Jill
