  • A wonderful album of these very interesting and very OLD trees. Wish there were more of them and hope they are able to survive. Thank you for sharing. Ray

  • Susan you made my day viewing this album, we are just back from a long w/e away in Sherwood forest (of Robin Hood fame) plenty of trees there as well but none even a quarter as old as the oldest of these beauties. When I tell Americans I meet that I have been to the White mountains of CA to view the Bristlecones, 75% of them have the same reaction. A cloudy look on their face & the comment 'I know the white mountains of NH but did not know they had some in CA'. Pity more do not know of these ancient wonders but on 2nd thoughts best they are not trampled over by the hordes of tourists, keep them secret for those who appreciate them! I flew 6000 miles to see them & the Nevada tour was just to make up the time. We could not get to Pattriarch in the spring as road was still closed so enjoyed seeing what we missed. We had an invite from our friends to Palm D this winter but now my wife will not fly long distance so no chance of taking them up on it. Eric
