No I haven't lost the plot - this wild non-venomous blue snake is one of the northern forms of the Australian green tree snake (Dendrelaphis punctulata). Come for a slither, slide and hissy visit to this fella's home - Atherton Tablelands, far north Qld

  • A bit more on the timing of this album - the first half of the shots were taken a few days before the last batch - showing a relaxed slider just enjoying the sun and a bit of quiet company, followed by the pics where he shows the resulting stress from encountering some very noisy neighbours and his subsequent relocation (mind you in the humans' defence, they were weekend tourists who really didn't expect one of the local fellas to hang down from their caravan awning to say hi!)

  • Hi Lorraine, it's good to see you back, and with such a stunning album. Your photos are spectacular; such a beautiful snake, and a shame it was so distressed. There's nothing creepy about nature in its rightful place, and I can see you respected its wellbeing. You did well to get such excellent shots; I'm glad the snake got away to s safe place.   • Gorgeous snakey !! What a treat ! I have come to love my local non-venomous snakes as well - and yes, photographed the only venomous visitor I've seen so far too, and still respect their space even tho one of my silly dogs got bit & required anti-venom ! Great album ! Hugs, Pat
