  • Danish Schultz & Larsen M70 single shot target rifle. Serial # 4596 original serial # on barrel. {22LR}. . Wood is in VG condition, hole drilled in wood behind receiver. Missing front sling swivel and stud. Metal finish 95%. Adjustable trigger. Front & rear adjustable peep sights. 25 3/4" bull barrel. Bore has VG+ to Excellent lands, grooves shine. Mark on barrel: “GE/AERFABRIKEN OTTERUP”. Weight: 8 lbs. Barrel length: 25 ¾”. Overall length: 42 ¼”. ########## The M33 uses the left-side tension extractor and one piece firing pin. It appears to be a Model 33. This model started production around 1933 beginning with barrel number 4,001 through 13,144. There are no yearly production numbers, so we may have to guess what year it was produced. This Rifle may be a hybrid with the bolt and extractor on the left side of the receiver produced on earlier guns as later models would have been a right side extractor. The Model 33 is comparable to the Model 24, but with an improved look. The front-sight was changed to a Lyman-type with inserts; the barrel was flush with the receiver. The stock is generally associated with the M58-M70 version, so it may have been replaced at some point - although we will never know for sure, as the S&L records have not been released for the 22lrs. So, this rifle is a model M70 with a barrel and bolt from a model M33 (the extractor is on the left side). When the factory developed their rifles, they did it in a way, so you always could send your old rifle to the factory and get it changed to the new model (or nearly changed). M24 -> M33 changed bolt and new small changes on the stock M33 -> M58 New front and rear sight (international standard). M58 -> M70 New Stock (very different from earlyer), new bolt with extractor in the right sight, new inner parts of the bolt and a new trigger. M70 -> M77 New trigger M70 -> M88 New trigger and a new stock.
