Album Description:

This Baby I found barely fluttering this morning and it was a treasure watching it grow stronger throughout the day..still peeping for Mom but now own his own. It even landed on my hand three times. By the end of the day it was dodging the dominant male.

    • Hi, Sam, Thanks very much for sharing the results of your patient day spent recording the adventures of this wonderfully cute, tiny hummingbird. Both the photography itself and your empathy for his challenges and efforts are truly delightful! All the best, Rebecca

    • Wow, Sam, what a photo op!!! The babies are more tolerant of humans standing around - they sit still which is a no-no for the adults who are always aware of danger. I heard that if you squint instead of remain round-eyed they will tolerate you more - due to their focus on enemy eyes. Who knows if that is correct. - Hugs from Michigan, DeeAnne

    • Good morning Sam, I have never seen a baby Hummer before. how long was this little fellow? wonderful shots. I have been having my cup a joe on the porch with my trusty new Canon poised at my face, and my ears on the ready....I HAVE learned that it is easier to get the shot as they are coming in due to having to take time to position themselves in mid air. The humming lets me know they are coming. But wow, when they decide to go........they are....gonzo.
