Yakushima is a small island located at south of Japan. This mountainous island is home of "Yaku Sugi" Old Japanese Ceder, Rhododendron yakushinum and other rare plant species. In Descember 1993, UNESCO inscribed some part of the island as a World Heritage

    • superb photos that I enjoyed very much given my interest in venerable trees & garden plants. I am aware of the Yakushimanum rhodo hybrids as they are most popular (& expensive) now in Uk gardens. If you are interested in trees I have an album on my old name ericy102 of my visit to the Bristlecone pines in Nth America who are documented at over 4000 years old in some cases.
