Hi Dave :P The coast drive from SB to the Bay is such a beautiful drive! YOu'll definitely get a lot of pictures. At San SImeon right now the giant elephant seals are laying on the beaches. IF you haven't seen Julia Pfieffer Falls just south of Big SUr, you must. It's right off the highway, and a quick walk takes you to a view of a waterfall falling onto the beach from the cliff. Billy and I had a lovely picnic up there once, perfect sunset spot too. You would like Point Lobos, there are different trails around and there is always somehting beautiful even if it's a foggy day, but it is $8 to get in if you don't have a state park pass already. The Aquarium doesn't have the Great White Shark anymore they let it loose in the bay can you believe that?! But I still say the Tuna Feeding at about 10 in the mornings is the most memorable thing there. And driving on the 1 to San Francisco maybe the waves will be big at the Half Moon Bay/ Maverick's area! :) Have fun on your trip, I will try to get more info about the turnoff to see the Pfieffer falls thing.
