  • This is a wonderful, and well photographed album Jane. I came to tell you thank your for your GB entry you entered in my album sometime back, and Im thinking I never thanked you. So sorry about that. I was so behind in my email then and deleted some unanswered emails by mistake. I also see I am not alone with problems with WS. Like mine and MAYBE everyone else that made the slightest edit, etc. to our albums up pops NEW! So what album really have new photos?? Noboby wants to go through 15+ album to find them if you know what I mean. WE with this problem are just going to have to get creative to let people know where the new photos are I guess. Take care Laura

  • Hi Jane! What at beautiful garden! Great variety of wonderful flowers! There are many flowers we don't know, so as Lambs Tongue and Dogwood (is this a bush or a tree?) and others. You have written that you have lots of bulbs poking through the dirt... Looking at this album, we can imagine what at beauty is growing in your garden, in one or two or three month... We too, we have lots of bulbs, old and new ones... We have forgotten, what it is! If the cats and the birds don't grab them out, we will have nice surprises! Thanks for all your wonderful guestbook entries! Hugs and love, Henri and Kaethi

  • Hi Jane. I hadn't noticed this album until today. The frames you've used really bring out the colors of the flowers. The Trellis Shadows (#7) photo caught my eye and demonstrates your attention to the little things. It's a very unusual shot. The First Lilacs (#29) photo reminds me of a bush we had in our backyard many years ago. I can still smell the flowers to this day. The unusual cutout mat in the Magnolia Tree (#44) photo was a great idea. This is another of your fine works. Richard

  • Hi Jane: I was just looking at your "Garden Specials" album. What a beautiful album. You did a terrific job. Outstanding composition. Fantastic use of a Macro lens. What kind of camera did you use? I've have put a couple of new albums up for your viewing pleasure. One is of Hot August Nights. An annual celebration which is held in the Reno/Sparks area the first week of August. All the photos were taken in Sparks on Victorian Avenue, near the Sparks Nugget Hotel and Casino. The other album I just put up was taken in 1996, during the Great Reno Balloon Race. I got a chance to go up in one. This album is of my 1st and only hot air balloon ride. Feel free to check out any of my other albums. Take care. God Bless You! Tom Bourke

I have a pink and white dogwood that bloomed and then I have a little red dogwood that gets way too much sun and heat in the summer and never sets on any buds for the spring. Maybe I should hold an umbrella over it all summer after I get through using the umbrella on the Turtledove! This album just keeps getting better and better. Hugs and birdie treats! Sharon

When I was mowing the lawn yesterday afternoon, I saw the Dove that has the nest in the gutter sticking her head up so I guess she's still doing OK and the rain hasn't bothered her nest. Have a great Easter Sunday! Sharon

LOL :-))) Just kidding!!! Hugs! As you call tell, I am still trying to let my brain thaw out. Bob froze up out at the MBG before I did today and he went inside. It was misting rain when we started out this morning and then it was very low light conditions, but I think we got some pretty good pics anyway! I had never heard them called Brewer's Blackbirds; we called them Crackles! :-((( I can't believe you are feeding them!!! I pound on the patio door when I see them at our feeders. I really sound like a mean old man, don't I? Have you seen the FedEx man yet? Sharon is still waiting for Petie to arrive. :-)) Seriously, you and your daughter are getting some great photos. • Hi Jane! Thanks so much for the eCard! I love that photo, but HOW DID YOU DO THAT? Very fascinating. I love the additions of Lambs Tongue. I don't think I have ever seen that plant. Is it a houseplant? My orchid has dropped all its blooms and the leaves of the plant look pretty sick. I was afraid of that!! :-((( I was happy to get sloppy dog kisses from Petie because I've had a little "bug" today and just haven't been very perky today. Maybe tomorrow!!!! Talk to you later. Going to Kentucky real soon to see my precious Rebecca, so you know what kind of pictures I'll be taking! Have a great week, Jenny

  • Thanks Jane!! We're still raking gumballs and now you give me Sycamore Seeds! :-))) It was a sweet gesture though. I needed that little chuckle. My favorites are Nectar Reflection; gorgeous photo. It also has some purple in the pic! LOL Candytuft Fence has a very romantic appearance to the photo. Are things as guiet in your Webshots guestbooks as they are in mine? :-((( Spring really has arrived here; lots of flowering trees are blooming, daffodils, hyacinths and with the rain we're getting today the hosta is popping out of the ground, the peonie plants are starting to shoot up and the list goes on! We still get some 30's at night and the last frost chance could go as long as mid-April. My roses are leafing out, but I don't dare uncover the mulch from them yet! My two pink kissing Gourami send their regards to the cats. :-)))) Wet fish kisses for the dogs also!! Bob and I went to the Butterfly House yesterday and it was soooo crowded!!! Spring break, I guess!! Well, I always enjoy looking at your updates and I enjoyed the surprise in this one; it was very thoughtful and sweet. Hugs to everyone! Sharon

  • Jane...a very nice and beautiful album. I love all the birds...we have a lot of bluejays here, and not just the baseball team..lol...its nice to see all these Spring things. If you ever get a chance, I would appreciate an email from you, because I wanted to ask you something. My address is on my site. Thank you for sharing these photos and all your beautiful albums. warm wishes, Barbara http://community.webshots.com/user/midnight_lace http://community.webshots.com/user/barbaramidnight

  • Yeah, yeah, show off those Iris!! :-))) I can't believe all the flowers that are blooming out there. I also didn't realize that Bluejays ate snails. It just goes to show that one can learn something new every day! :-)) Bob and I are still wiping off sloppy dog kisses from Petie; I loved that comment. It was really great to hear some humor and you are so great at cheering up people with your lovely personality!!! :-)))) We had a fun day at the Shaw Nature Reserve although we were a week or two early. They've had a lot of rain out there and a lot of the roads were still closed down, so we were limited to what we saw. The photos were really not worth writing home about! I'll try to answer your question about the 500mm lens. I have a Minolta XTsi 35 mm SLR camera that has a 35-80 mm lens on it for most regular scenery shots. We also have a few other interchangeable lenses to use on it. We have a 100-300 mm lens that I use a lot at the zoo and then I have this great big 170-500 mm lens that at 500 mm will make the object appear 10 times closer than what the eye sees it. In my animal albums from the zoo, most of the birds are sitting in cages and with the 100-300 lens or the 170-500 lens I can shot photos right through the cages and the wires in front of the birds usually don't show up! It's neat to be able to make things disappear!! :-)) If you will look at the Animal Expressions album or Catch the Gleam in Their Eye album, you will notice that it looks like I'm standing right up in the face of many of the animals when, in reality, they are way back trying to hide. Of course, now we use our digital cameras most of the time and we have one that will zoom out to an equivant of 380 mm. That also works pretty good at the zoo. I hope I have helped answer your question. Bob should have answered it because he teaches me everything I know! LOL :-))) Does Rod work for the Oregon Department of Conservation or some place similar? I hope he isn't planting Sweet Gum trees!! :-((( Well, this message is way too long! I am having massive computer problems, so I think we'll take this in for a little work. Then I'll have to try and pig Bob's laptop! That might be a challenge!!!! Tell Petie I'd like to send him a big box of doggie treats, but the girls might want him to share! Hugs to everyone! Sharon

  • Hi Jane! Boo hoo! The Missouri Tigers lost in the NCAA tournament Saturday, but they put up a good fight! Bob and I haven't been doing too much this weekend, but plan on going to the Shaw Nature Reserve tomorrow. I doubt if too many things are budded out yet. Some of the daffodils are blooming now, the forsythia is starting to bloom and the magnolia trees are blooming. I will answer your question about the 500mm lens another day when my brain is not as tired as it is tonight. Have a great week and give massive hugs to Petie and everyone else! :-)))) Just Sharon

  • Hi Jane! Is that your middle name? You didn't know that Jane was my middle name, did you? It is! Don't you just love the see the Robins take a bath. They really know how to get clean! But, hey, where's their privacy? LOL :-)) Great photo! I can't keep up with all your additions, but I'm trying! You are so dedicated to catching all those special photos each and everyday. I really think that's great! We are not always "camera-ready& quot; here! About the tripod, Bob has several tripods, but one of them is too heavy and bulky and the other is too light to hold a 500mm lens, so he found another one for me to use that is about the right weight, but will do the job. Of course, he's always experimenting and has to try things out first! Before he retired, he was an electro-optics engineer and that part of his mind hasn't stopped working!!! :-)))) Well, Missouri won their first NCAA basketball game and will play again this afternoon. I was rooting for Oregon also, but they didn't win their game. :-(( Julie (my daughter), the granddaugthers and myself can't wait for St. Louis Cardinal baseball to start up. The girls in the family were the sports nuts and the boys were more into reading and quiet stuff. Well, keep taking those gorgeous pictures and I'm glad that Petie is the spoiled dog. I would spoil that precious face also! Hugs to everyone! Sharon

  • HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING TO YOU TOO JANE! The daffodils are starting to bloom, the Magnolia trees are just waiting to put on their show, the hyacinths are peaking their heads through the ground and if I could just eliminate the gumballs things would really be beautiful. :-)))) Bob has been photographing the mockingbird couple eating apples today. Of course, the squirrels manage to get their share also. He's not planning on doing anything with the photos, but he bought ME a new tripod, and as usual, he's hogging it first! I have never used a tripod even when I use the 500mm lens at the zoo, but I know that I should, so I think I am going to start practicing using a tripod until I get frustrated with it! :-(((( Well, I am a NCAA basketball nut and am eager to see if ESPN shows the Missouri-SIUC game this afternoon. Have a great day and thanks for the beautiful photo of spring in Oregon! Hugs to all! Sharon

  • Jane...SO glad you made this for Elaine. I will miss her very much too and all of her photos and creations. She is a very kind and generous person and seeing this album brought tears to my eyes. But, she is leaving to persue her painting and for that we shall all benefit when one day we might just happen to see one of her paintings in a gallery. Will miss her very much. Thank you for making this page for her, so that we can also say goodbye to her and let her know how much we care about her. Have a wonderful time painting Elaine and if you get a chance stop by and view some albums from time to time. My very best wishes to you, Barbara. Jane, thank you again and I will be looking through your albums as usual. They are all so beautiful. • Jane, I have just recieved your message and want to assure you that I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at your fabulous photo's and our great converstions, it has nothing to do with my leaving webshots. I have spent an increasing amount of time producing my creations and coupled with the photography I have been left with very little time to pursue my Oil painting and other interests.Unfortunately I am a very exacting and pedantic person. So please dont be thinking it is of your making, THAT WOULD REALLY UPSET ME.:-(((I just wanted to let you know thats the reason for my leaving and I would do all this again, because I too have those deep intensive feelings within, we get on so well together. I love you. Thanks for being a wonderful and loving friend with such a BIG HEART you spread happiness, love and joy where ever you go.To me thats so important you always have such kind words and you have certainly brought a tremendous amount of those three important qualities to me. You will always be very outstanding to me. Gigantic Redwood Hugs sent with all my love.Elaine.

  • Jane,Before I go I must say I hope I have not let you down too badly about our trips, so sorry, forgive me.:-(((( I will however be thinking of you, but I have decided to put my time and efforts back into my Oil painting, which I have been neglecting of late. Although we live miles and miles apart it is amazing to me, through our messages to each other, the close bond we have built together which I feel most definately, to be right and solid. I have said many times from the bottom of my heart that you are such a special person and certainly TOP CLASS. For our paths to have crossed has been so fortunate for me to meet such a beautiful person with the sweetest soul. I have enjoyed every minute, sharing the fun and laughter together and all the support in your very lovely and kind messages ( YOU ARE SO SPECIAL, A HUGE THANKYOU DEAR FRIEND) Your outward affection has touched me deeply. I would also like to thank you and Rod for this fantastic photo of the 000's which I have now framed and will be a constant reminder of our friendship. I will still keep a look out for that "Golden 0". Thanks again for this very special thought Jane of your kindness along with the pic. I WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH TOO. GIGANTIC REDWOOD HUGS SENT WITH ALL MY LOVE.TO BOTH YOU AND ROD.:-)))) Thanks for sharing all your fantastic photo's with me, taken with brilliant photography and for your love of all nature.Elaine.
