Congratulations on your Featured Album today. You have captured some real beauties in here. My favorite is nr.2, beautiful colors in a good composition, with the reflection of colors in the water. Enjoy your featuring day, you have deserved it! Bye and greetings from The Netherlands, Diana.

I was surpriced, when I saw this album. A good mix and variations in the shots. When you are interested in the seasons in my country (Holland), take a look, and you will smile too. Henk from the Netherlands.

Nice pictures, with some Japanese atmosphere, if you don't mind. Surprising to see how far your season is ahead of ours. We stil have frost at night here in Holland and for azalea's profusely in bloom like yours we have to wait at least four to six weeks. Sante

Congratulations on your beautiful Callaway Gardens album. The Azaleas are magnificent and remind me of azalia gardens I visited many years ago in the Carolinas or Georgia. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures then, so this album is a very welcome reminder of their beauty. I did hve a number of azaleas here in Santa Barbara some years ago and do miss their beauty. Thank you very much for sharing these beautiful photos... Ray, Santa Barbara, CA

Here in Texas, or is it Oklahoma? Better ask Ma...yup, we is in Texas, it is also pretty here. It is near dry in these parts all the time, though it does rain space shuttle parts. Beautiful photographs of Callaway Gardens. Since you have obviously visited the gardens several times, may I share something with you? Prof Fred Galle went to Callaway Gardens in the mid fifties from the University of Tennessee. At UTK Prof Galle was a teacher in the horticulture department, a yankee, young, and very opinionated. He was/is from a aboral landscaping family, and Prof sustained a back injury while working in triming trees with the family business in Ohio. Thus, he came to Tennessee to seek a college career. The faculty at UT did not cater to Prof. This was a jealous bunch of professors who prefered to dress in tie and suit, lecture and be looked up to. Not Prof Galle. He began to develop contact with local nurserymen, and they helped him bring holly, rhododendron and azaleas into the area landcaping. I was with Dr. Galle only two years, during which I worked under him in the UTK greenhouses. He stayed only briefly at UTK after the early 1950s, and was hired at Callaway Gardens as the manager of their greenhouse activities. While there, I understand he did much to build the azalea gardens for which Callaway is noted. He has also written a coffee table picture book on azaleas. I don't know if Prof is still with us, but he is retired from Callaway. He was one of the best college professors I have ever studied under, and I hope his life in North Georgia was more eventful than the football disaster in Tennessee could afford. hybie
