  • Thank you very much for these wonderful photos of one of the worlds most beautiful places, Kauai. Spellings aren't as important as the photos and I have noted many such problems on many albums of others. My own misspelling or miss strikes are numerous, so I also apologise to anyone offended. Really a great album, and I have heard the Menehune lived in several valleys, but their history seems lost. Thanks again... Ray

  • To everyone, I would like to apologize for my spelling from time to time. And, from time to time I will make a mistake. So, please enjoy my photos and I will do my best. Now to clear some things up. 1.Honopu Valley, Kauai - The densely jungled valley of Honopu was thought to be the last home of the Menehune and is often referred to as the "Valley of the Lost Tribe." The beach in this area is where Jessica Lange eluded King Kong in the 1976 remake of the classic King Kong and Harrison Ford fled from pirate attack in 6 Days, 7 Nights. 2.) I know how to spell Waimea Canyon and had 4 other references, one was a mistake. 3.) Polihale - thank you for catching that spelling error. 4.) Regarding Ka'a falls, After looking at the photo and comparing with other pictures of the different falls it is my belief that this Wailua Falls and not Ka'a Falls. We were both incorrect. If you are interested, you can see photos side by side noting the difference in the water spill points. Regarding falls however, there are hundreds of waterfalls on the Island which many are not named or have names by the locals that frequent them. Even though this is not Ka'a falls, it would be a nice name for one. In summation, I welcome your help and I admit a spelling error here and there. I spent years in Hawaii and I know many of the areas well. I as you are, human and can make a mistake. But at least I am sharing what I feel are some of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.

  • Hi again. I just thought you should know that the valley in the picture is not the valley of a lost tribe. Hawaiians didn't even have tribes. That valley was where lepers were sent to live so that they would not infect the general population. I'm not trying to be rude, but you really should research your spellings and captions before you post them.
