  • Thanks for sharing your photo's, I was searching for pictures of the Twin Falls and your photo's came up. My Husband was born and raised in West Virginia. We live in Indiana and we go there several times a year. His mom lives in Beckley and his dad lives in Welch. So we are not very far from the Twin Falls. I keep telling my husband we go there when we have more time. Thanks again.. Tammy

  • Hello There, I thought I had seen all your albums, and then I receive a photo message from Mccoyrray, with one of these photos on it. I looked at the guestbook, just to be sure, and my name was not there. So, here I am, and I downloaded the Female Deer. I love the 3 photos and captions. Doe, a Doe, a Female Deer and the rest should be Ray, a Drop of Golden Sun. Remember that song????? I'm sure that's where you came up with that clever caption. A beautiful album, as they all are. I'd better check and see how many others I missed. Take care Sharon

  • Thank You for coming to my site and looking at my little Cottage. We are on 5 ac in the small town of Nampa, Idaho. Your note was very special. When I started looking at your slice of heaven...I got tears. I have been learning about my family history. My Mothers maiden name is Dotson and they had a large history in West Virginia. We have gone back to 1752 when Richard Dotson fought in the Indian wars. So to see these pictures was a special gift. I hope to get busy and start posting more pictures...Mary

  • Bill and Kay, your photos are fantastic. My wife and I enjoy to travel and for the first time I think we will have to explore West Virginia and also buy a digital camera. I always thought there was not much to see in West Virginia, but now I know that I was wrong. Thanks again. David & Renee

  • Bill and Kay, your photos are just gorgeous! West Virginia is definitely beautiful. My favorites are your relics from the past. My husband and I own a 1904 doctor's buggy, a 1904 Portland sleigh, and a buckboard. I hope to have some of our photos loaded soon that I took this summer. We have the buggy and sleigh in a corral with flowers that I just planted this summer. We are still working on restoring the seat and top of the buggy and parts of the buckboard. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos! Karen

  • Hi, Bill and Kay - I am on my last day here in New Hampshire and thank you for your compliments and comments on my NH albums. I just had a brief time to look over your wonderful and most interesting albums featuring the beauty of your "Almost Heaven". Headed for winter quarters on the Gulf Coast of Florida tomorrow morning - will wave as I go through a small corner of your state (81), and plan to do more more browsing in your albums (and definitely some downloading) once I get settled. • Thank you for viewing my albums of Nashville and for the compliment you left in my guestbook. That's high praise coming from somebody that takes such beautiful photos as you do. I can't begin to name a favorite, because I love all of your photos. After viewing your photos, I added West Virginia to my "must visit" list. I am definitely an amateur, but I have become a Webshot addict and with photos to enjoy and appreciate like yours, it gives me inspiration to do better. Thank you so much, Kay and Bill, for sharing with us. Also, beginning next Wednesday, I am taking a beginners oil painting and water color class. Is it possible to use the photos in Webshots for this purpose? Kay, could you email me at donnakay@iwon.com and let me know. I would appreciate that so much. Thanks, Donna in Missouri

  • Hi Bill & Kay, I like your album. Nice sceneries and lots of nature. Good for the spirit; gets one's heartbeat slow down and relax. I have a hard time to settle down on a favorite, yet the composition and the mood in the New River National River is so appealing. Great album. ray

  • Hello Bill, thank you for the kind comments on my vehicle pictures posted on my webshots page. You are the first one to post so I am quite honored! Let me tell you a little story without hopefully boring you to sleep. About 10 years ago my wife and I were in Hawaii on vacation and one Sunday noticed a garage sale happening in a small park. Wandering around not planning to really buy anything, I spotted a rather large oil pianting of what I thought was an old flour mill of some sort. I loved it at first glance. The old lady selling it said her husband who had recently died had in fact painted it when they lived stateside and she was selling it because she had other similar ones. She wanted $200.00 for it, we told her it was too much and wandered away. Later as we were leaving we saw her loading it into an old truck and she also spotted us. She came over and asked us were we were from, we told her and she then said, if you take this to your home and give it the love it gave my husband in painting it, I will give it to you. We said we would like to pay something for it, but she said no. There are a lot of nice people in this world, she was certainly one of them. Now we are back at the condo with our luggage and this 3 foot by 3 foot painting. What to do...we took it to a post office, wrapped it and shipped it home. My wife was less than impressed that I was wasting precious holiday time on an old painting. Anyways, we get home to find the painting has already arrived. I decide to take it to work and hang it in my office. For over 10 years it hangs there until someone says, where is that old grist mill located. I say I have no idea, what's a grist mill, I myself think it's some kind of flour mill, I have looked at it many times and wondered myself if it still survives. Even took a photo and blew it up on my scanner to see if I could make out the name on the sign, but to no avail. It was starting to become an obsession to see if it actually exsisted when one day a picture popped up on Webshots, one of your pictures of an old mill. I went to your pictures and there on page 2, labelled "Spring at the Grist Mill" was almost a carbon copy of my painting. I was needless to say quite amazed it actually exsists and now know the old fellow who painted it must have been sitting almost on the spot you stood to take the picture. What does all this mean to me, well, we are now planning a long journey next summer to see this old mill in person, it has become something of a quest I must do. My wife thinks maybe I've had a little too much sun or something... but I know viewing your photos she will find your beautiful part of the country worth this journey. I would like to thank you for being responsible for solving on of my lifes little puzzles. Tom and Lorna Webb tomwebb@shaw.ca

  • Hi Bill: Thank you for the nice comments you made about my albums, specially the "Roses" . My husband and I had a few laughs about my making an entire album about getting roses for an anniversary. He felt a little embarrased about how many times HE DID NOT GIVE ME ROSES during our marriage, that I made such a deal out of getting them. (LOL) Write to me personally so I can give you details about the programs I used to make the photo art. (tooljlaw@cs.com) Joyce (toolmlaw - screenname webshots)

  • Thank you for the many many comments you left in my Guestbook. I was very pleased. I put a lot of effort into my phots and do my best to share with others. I use a Sony DSC F707 Cybershot and I'll be replacing that with a new model (DSC F828) by next spring. I tend to travel several times a year and always try to take representative photos of whereever I go. Living in Oregon there is no lack of things to photograph. I'll be in Vermont in the fall and will be posting pictures of that soon. Thanks, Randy Randyincv@yahoo.com
