  • Good Morning Bill and Kay. I just love to visit this album and have memories revived and a chuckle too. It still brings me a smile whenever I come here. I am sorry it has taken a week to do all my thanks yous. But, I so appreciate your visit to my featured album last week and your lovely comments there. Between you and me, I still like your black and white album better than my own. (: But, am thankful for being featured and appreciate friends that visit me there. (; Hope WV is sunny today. Have a great day. Big hugs to both of you, Dynna

  • Hi Bill and Kay, Outstanding set of albums. I must say, however, that having used a number of outhouses in my time, this was my favorite. Thanks for the trip down memory lane and for your kind words last week about my Pandas. Paul in FL.

  • I started viewing your albums and couldn't stop. Finally got to the outhouses. What a novel idea for an album. Thoroughly enjoyed all of your pictures. Doug in CA

  • Hi Kay: I grew up using an Outhouse at my Gram's house in the country. I can remember loving using it. There was a regular one in the house but my and my grampa both preferred the outhouse. It just seemed so right. As for the whale bone you asked me about, it was on the swimming pool deck of a friend of mine. She brought it back from the Cayman Islands I think. Such a find. I always enjoy your photos too, I always feel like I am time traveling to a time of innocense that I do remember having been a country bumpkin myself all my growing up years. merryeb

  • Hi Kay & Bill! This is my all time favorite album! What a hoot! Out here in Oregon we still have official outhouses in every campground so we can pass on the experience to each new generation:-))))) Bet WV does too!!! Thanks for sharing this wonderfully humorous album!!! Two-story outhouse???? Lots of hugs! Jane

  • Greetings from a former WV resident. Thanks for this delightful album! Most of my WV pics are in my Statements 5 album.

  • Love it!! I developed my love of reading in the bathroom from lazy hours spent in the outhouse with a Sears Roebuck catalog. The first picture and the interior shot are almost exact replicas of the one we had. Even after we graduated to actual bathroom tissue, the old catalogs still were taken "out back". Thank you from Mary in Florida

  • I thought I could use a chuckle and knew I would find one here. Today I read the other comments too and those gave me a laugh also. I'm so thankful that these necessities are for the most part all memory. Only when in the U.P. for me, does it have to be part of my reality again. I really enjoy this album. It's a spirit lifter and grateful reminder how far we have come in time. Thanks again. Dynna

  • This album is a hoot!! I don't particularly enjoy outhouses any more but, we still use one in the boonies of Michigan's upper peninsula at our hunting cabin. Thanks for such a cute album. Dynna

  • Hello Kay, This is such an amazing album, I am so surprised that you found so many to photograph! I almost fell off my chair when I saw the two story outhouse!!! I can't even picture the inside of this contraption, did you see any stairs anywhere? Fabulous work Kay, thanks! Candy

  • Kay: I don't know which album to look at first! They are all awesome albums, but I got a kick out of this one, it reminds me of the good old days as a kid when my parents had an old cabin at the coast, they were always building a "new & improved" out house! When they finally built a real bathroom, I thought that was the best "new & improved" thing they ever did! LOL! Now I wish I had a picture of the old thing for nostalgia sakes! All of your photography is wonderful, what kind of camera do you use? Carmy

  • Thanks for your contribution in my Flaming Fantasy guestbook. I must say that you have a very unique subject in this photoalbum yourself, lol. Looking at these pics almost makes me have to go myself... Unfortunately overhere there haven't been outhouses for over 60 years. They can be very useful when one suffers from a sudden explosive diarrhea while taking a walk on the countryside... Greetings from the Netherlands, Louise.
