This album is WONDERFUL..... It should be featured by Webshots! I would have never thought that mushrooms could be so beautiful. I wish someone had taken a picture of you lying on the forest floor taking a photo of these mushrooms..... Now that would have been priceless! Great job Brother John.

All of your picture albums are fabulous! I was amazed how many different types and colors of mushrooms there are and to find these all in one place. Really great shots John! Dennis in Iowa.

I enjoyed very much your fungi pictures. I just saw the largest mushroom I have ever seen and posted pictures here: http://community.webshots.com/scripts/editPhotos.fcgi?action=showMyPhoto&albumID=85931894&photoID=85931971&security=bRLTkp I'm in Memphis, and probably don't see the diversity that you do, so I really enjoyed your shots! Thanks for being there! Linda Kuczwanski

Beautiful album. You really captured the fungi very well and let me wish it would have not been so dry here that year, so I could get and pick some mushrooms again. Dagi from Germany

Wow, I have never seen so many different kinds of mushrooms. Were these pictures taken in the same area or in different place. I have looked at several of your albums, you have a good eye for composition and color and I have enjoyed looking at them. Sandy

Your photographs are awesome. Very profressional if you ask me. Though, the Indian Pipe is not a fungus. It is acutally a plant that is incapable of performing photosynthesis. Instead it acts as a fungus and aquires nutrients from decaying material. It fools many people. Just thought you might like to know.

OK, now I have a challenge for you. Go check out my latest digital pictures and tell me what the fungus is that I have labelled as 'Weird' ! Look here : http://community.webshots.com/photo/102751324/103688642JAmBrJ I have NEVER seen anyting like it before & I have found 7 of them in my yard in the past couple days ! - Pat

I love all your albums (so far, just glancing thru right now, will take the time to collect all ASAP), are all of these pictures that you took or scans of pictures from somewhere else. Obviously the ones like the trips are yours (SeaWorld, & those from the boat), but are the animals and the fungi original? Either way you have EXCELLENT taste, and are a phenominal photographer/choser. Thank you for sharing. Will you leave these on for a while, or are you planning to delete any? Please let me know so I can take the time to add them to my collection and document them properly. Thank you. Jeanie

This message is for hilltoppooh, who left the last guestbook entry......... I am the sister of Jkostick and he is the BEST of Photographers. To set the record straight.... He NEVER scans any photos from anywhere and displays them as his own. All these photos are his, personally taken by him. John is a perfectionist and he uses a Olympus digital camera with a great zoom lens.... for those close up animal shots that are so perfect. He often takes trips, just to take the wonderful photos that he has on display in his many albums. I think the photos of the fungi in this album, are some of his best. To get these pictures, he actually laid down on the damp, dirty ground to get the close-up shots of those beautiful mushrooms. He's not an expert on mushrooms, so he didn't even know the names till other people informed him. And I know he was greatful for the input. My brother and I have a friendly competition going whenever we go on trips and take photos to display on Webshots..... but he is just a tad better than me!!! Love you, brother John. Your Sister, JudalineC

These are wonderful mushroom photos. I picked chantrelles for a couple seasons out in the Oregon woods and tried to get some good photos of them, but it was always drizzly and gloomy in the woods and none ever came out nearly so clear as these. Bravo on a job well down here...Les in Alaska
