What a pleasant surprise to find our splendid Plitvice lakes captured in such an amazing way. Really gorgeous pictures. I have been there at least 10 times, everytime when passing by for holidays to our adriatic coast. And I always enjoy the visit as the impressive sights are calming your soul. The lakes are the prove that not only our islands and seaside are attractive tourist destinations. My favourite is Dubrovnik on our southern coast. Afterwards experiencing the historical Dubrovnik you hardly believe anything could delight you more. And for everyone else asking, yes it is safe to travel to Croatia, war was over 10 years ago! Welcome! I have also a suggestion for author, when you will be visiting Croatia again, go to Rastoke, a little place near town Slunj... it's like Plitvice but smaller, and it is not a national park, it's a simple village where people build their houses on tops of waterfalls! Thank-you. I saw the falls in 1988 when I went there on a school trip. I wondered how they survived everything. It is good to see that they are as beautiful as ever. I loved walking through there and the falls where people liked to get married. It was great to see these photos. My first overseas trip was to Plitvice and I love the memories that it brings back. Hi Andi, I have so much good memory's of this beautifull place Plitvice. I think it's a bit of heaven on earth. I was there 13 years ago, walking on slippers with my little son(2 years old at that time) on my back hand in hand with my loving husband. Thank you for these beautiful pictures. It refreshes my memory of how extremely beautiful these lakes are: the blue-green colour of the clear water is something which I will always remember. Together with these memories others pop up however. We drove from Dubrovnik to the Plitvice lakes through the inland. We came through valleys with deserted dead villages. The people had been driven out of their houses in the beginning of the war. These valleys were among the most fertile ones. Now nothing. The silence was oppressive. We did not expect to find these remnants of the war, as we thought the troubles had been more in the north. It was a silent and terrifying sight/site. Greetings Anna Oldenhave, the Netherlands

Ok you have convinced me! After seeing this album I have this burning desire to go and visit. I have a request though. Could you please give me some info on your trip? Things like how long did you stay, what kind of travel did you take (boat, air, car), how was getting through customs, roughly how much did it cost, weather conditions while there and any other info you might deem helpful. Very beautiful! I love your pictures all the time. May I suggest you visiting Sichuan Province of China where there are beautiful lakes of crytal blue and waterfall with waterdrops like pearl. It will be especially lovely in Autumn with red and yellow leaves around.
