1892 picture of collapsed Wabash River Bridge after train wreck. from Mike McCormick

Album Info:
This bridge changes names with the corporations that own it but it crosses the Wabash River near Tippecanoe Street. After repair of this damage, there was another derailment on the bridge in 1900. Chunks of ice north of the bridge pushed the foundation causing the tracks to be misaligned and a freight train to jump the tracks. There was loss of life and rolling stock but I don’t know how much damage the bridge suffered.
