Separately, take each pair of hangers, place them on the floor, and align them the same way - side-by-side in close proximity. Now "slide" one of them so that the two hangers overlap by only 7 inches. Using duct tape, tightly wrap the overlapping areas, leaving 3 inches in the center unwrapped. Now insert closed needle-nosed pliers or similar between the wires at center, and gently bend the wires apart 0.75 inch or about the diameter of your pole tip.
