The proposed cross-country route drops me into a drainage NE of South Peak, one which is better followed a little ways up the hillside to the south than in the dry streambed itself. Finally spotting a windmill, I make tracks into a brushy flat containing an old stock corral and cistern, but no water. However a dirt road in this vicinity leads further down canyon to good water on private land.
