Exit 28 on I-87. Take a right off the exit ramp and take the first right onto route 9 south at the blinking light. Follow rt9 for about 1 mile and take a left onto Alder Meadow road. Eventually (about 2 miles or so) the road begins to head south and becomes East Shore Drive (east shore of Schroon Lake). At this turning point there is a road that continues east and is Crane Pond Road. Follow this all the way to the end to the trailhead.
