To achieve the strong upsweep found on the " MacMillan ", the apummaqs have to be widened at the ends. I glued 3 1/2" high x 5' and 4' triangles to do the job. To avoid having to do this, the use of much wider planks is required. This would, however, imply higher initial cost and a fair amount of wood waste.
