Album Info:
Log Cabin mine was first located in 1890, but it was Jim Simpson who acquired the mineral rights in 1910 and it has been known as Simpson mine ever since. In the 1930s, a Washington Stae company puchased the mine, and it changed hands again in 1939. President Roosevelt closed all the nation's gold mines during WWII, and after the war, little more ore came out of the mine. It is speculated that over $1 million worth of gold was produced here. The US Forest Service now owns the land.
