Album Info:
Tomijiro was a Japanese naval cadet officer who died while his ship "Hiei" was in Townsville on 13 April 1900. He was buried the next day in West End cemetery. The Japanese Navy had a tradition of returning to erect a monument on a subsequent voyage. Curiously there are two headstones.
