Test Mule seen at the Interagency Center in Lone Pine

Album Info:
Auto manufacturers routinely test future automobiles in the Owens Valley and Death Valley region. Test mules for models planned for more than a year or two in the future are often clad in material covering all or part of the body, in an effort to camouflage their body lines and hide from the public and corporate spies their finished appearance. Panamint Valley in summer is a great place, as well as nearby Death Valley, to test their running train for heat resistance, the rough roads are superb to test suspension. Long distances with wide open spaces put on the miles fast, their remoteness help to keep prying eyes and lenses of competitors from getting a sneak preview and ideas. The driver of this car only said it was a german car.
