While shaping the stem plate, I felt a bit of looseness so, I doweled with "power trunnels " both in and out. Once in place, nothing moves! Be careful in placing the trunnel pressure following the wood grain. The force generated by such a simple device is quite high. If placed sideways to the grain, it will split the wood.
