Together with its single moon, it travels around the sun at an average distance of 92,960,000 miles (149,600,100 km). The earth is estimated to be 4.55 billion years old. The first sign of life on the planet are some fossilized bacteria found in rocks estimated to be 3.3 billion years old. The weight of the earth is estimated at 5.98 sextillion (5,980,000,000,000,000,000,000) metric tones. Credits: pictures of the earth, the space shuttle and the stars are all from NASA.
