The Ferryman – Steve Longley – view of the west bank. He is in charge of this hikers ferry operation. Every day he is down by the river waiting to ferry hikers over this formidable river crossing. Due to major fluctuations of the water level in a dam release upstream necessitates this ferry operation. This canoe ferry operation is paid for by the Maine Appalachian Trail Club.
