The National Bison Range, located in Montana, was one of three reserves created between 1907 and 1909 for the preservation of the American Bison. Currently, some 350 to 500 bison roam the 18,500 acres of the Bison Range. This view is from Bitterroot Trail. The mountains in the far distance are the Bitterroot Range.
