En el Cayo Pablillo, llamado tambien Cayo Rata, uno de los que forman la cadena de los "Siete Hermanos" existio un faro que iluminaba las noches para indicar a los navegantes la ruta que debian seguir los barcos que arribaban al antiguo puerto de Montecristi. Hoy dia es solo una alta estructura de concreto que nos habla de su importancia para la navegacion en los ultimos anos del siglo XIX y principio del XX, cuando Montecristi constituia uno de los puertos mas activos para la exportacion del campeche, el guatapanal y otras cortezas de maderas que se utilizaban en Europa en la fabricacion de tintes industriales
