  • I believe two kilometers of the wall was left standing to serve as a memorial. It has been left standing for the same reasons that the concentration camps of the Nazi era remain; to make people remember this painful period.

  • Beautiful photo. To add to stepheno3 comment, the wall doesn't exist. They just left parts of it for everybody to remember what it was like when the wall was still standing.
