This view from ME 17 lookout on Spruce Mountain where the AT crosses is of Mooselookmeguntic Lake. Bald Mountain (Oquossuc) is in the background on the left. The total elevation gain on this hike was 3,030 feet. Although this hike did not have any steep climbs there were many short ups and they added up. We felt fatigued by the end. This hike turned out to be the easiest hike on the trip and was a good starter to get us going. There was significant mileage to prepare us for what lay ahead.
