Looking south from the bridge over FR212 north of Clifton, when this sandbar is submerged - as it was here in the spring of 2005 - the river is probably running over 350 cfs and of dubious fordability. (Despite this, it did prove marginally fordable for me that year, as well as in spring of '07 when the sandbar was also submerged at my time of arrival.)
