After the shuttles are decommissioned, NASA launches a "Shuttles Fly-by America -- from Sea to Shining Sea" -- program to make shuttle appearance and flybys in popular civilian and military activities. Any organization could submit such requests to the public relations promotion firm representing NASA for any outdoor event which has a worthy cause. However, the waiting list is so long that NASA recommends make the request at least two years in advance. Applicants should keep in mind that NASA will give priority to the big and famous events which draw big crowd or TV audience, such as the football Super Bowl, baseball World Series, City of Pasadena, California New Year's Day Rose Parade, Santa Monica Pier Fourth of July firework display, the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) championship games, the annual parties of big theme parks in Orange County, California and Orlando, Florida, just to name a few.
