Hello Brent. Your beautiful photo of an exquisitely lovely bloom has brought back many memories. I had to look it up in "Botanica" to be sure, but yes, there it was - Bird of Paradise, with prickles on the stems! I had it in my front garden for many years, and one year, it simply up and died! By then I had so many other plants, and a huge Bird of Paradise Tree (Poinciana Regis) in the front yard, that I didn't replace it. Thanks for the happy memories! Cheers. Margaret downunder.
