Yellow-rumped Warbler (Dendroica coronata)

Album Info:
15 May 2007 - Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, Ohio The Yellow-rumped Warbler is one of the most common warblers in North America. It is also one of the hardiest with many individuals staying through the winter. At Magee Marsh, it tends to be an early migrant and when we were there last week, only a few were still migrating through. This individual shows characters of the white-throated "Coronata group" (Myrtle Warbler) which is further divided into the more southerly D. c. coronata and the larger Alaskan D. c. hooveri. I do not believe these two races can be distinguished from each other in the field. Canon PowerShot S3 IS 12x
