Album Info:
I took this shot Fri, 21 Jan 2005 while waiting for a Slaty-backed Gull. I got some photos of the Slaty-backed also and have posted them along with some additional information at: http://fog.ccsf.edu/~jmorlan/sbgu 012105.htm Glaucous Gull is a rare, but regular winter visitor to California. The large gull concentrations at Half Moon Bay had at least four of these birds today. This one is a bit smaller and darker than most of the ones we get. It is still in juvenal plumage showing small diamond-shaped spots near the tips of each primary along the shaft.
