Album Info:

(DSC05337) At the Oceanarium "Bahura" (Coral Reef): Hambug Damselfish or "Palata" (Dascyllus aruanus) inhabits shallow lagoons and subtidal reef flats of the Indo-Pacific region, including the Philippines. It grows to a maximum length of 10 cm.; has a diet of zooplankton, benthic invertebrates, and algae. This damselfish occurs in moderate-sized groups around coral heads in calm water to a depth of 12 m. and is abundant in reef-flat staghorn Acropora coral thickets. Males invite females to spawn, then become aggressive against other fish while they tend the eggs. Should not be confused with the Blacktail Humbug. (Taken from the aquarium's adjacent signage)
