Lorikeets and lories are small, brightly coloured, highly aboreal parrots. They are usually classified as Loriinae, the most clearly distinct of the several rather uncertain subfamilies within the Psittacidae.

Wow. What a lovely bird... and such bright colors. I have a parakeet and a cockatiel. But their colors are drab next to this little guy. And thanks for the info you added with this picture.
