Album Info:
Bob and I went to the Missouri Botanical Garden's Holiday Flower and Train Show for one last look on New Year's Eve Day. This Hibiscus was blooming next to some pink poinsettias. Just seeing these exotic Hibiscus in bloom took the chill off the cold weather we've had this past week. P1210644

I really appreciate this flower's attempts at getting attention. They seem to just shout out to photographers, "Snap me" And you did, it's just magnificent. Thanks for sharing your three this week. Don UK>

Beautiful. It took the chill off of my evening too. This picture reminds me just how long it has been since I've been able to go to Longwood Gardens. My foot still gets sore after a short walk so I'm not quite ready to lug my stuff to Longwood yet.

Hang on while I run outside and check our hibiscus! OK - the colour is a perfect match but this one is a much fuller flower than ours. The leaves are bright and shiny, too, which is the sign of a healthy, happy plant. Funny old world, though, isn't it? Here's you suffering from the cold whilst we are suffering from intense heat. I guess at least you can wrap up and venture out in the cold but anyone who goes outside when it's 42C and over (as has been the case twice this week) needs their head examining. There is, after all, a limit to how many clothes you can take off!!! Hugs, Peter

How refreshing to see this tropical bloom in the midst of winter! You have so many good places to go and take pictures--and you take full advantage of them, too! Lucky for us! Happy New Year! Barbara
