I have had a detailed look at the album. The closeup shots are excellent and having used a wider apreture, there is distraction from the background. Also in cropping you have cut out parts of the close ups. I would be interested the kind of hardware you use. I myself use a D 200 and a D 80 with AF VR 105 and use a flash with diffuser. I do use Photoshop to burn the distracting background. Having said that the colour renditions except for two of the yellow flowers are over exposed, it is an excellent collection of flowers.
