El Rodadero es bastante popular entre los turistas y los locales por ser éste clásico ejemplo del área geográfica de la ciudad, la cual es adecuada y valorizada especialmente para la recreación. Este emplazamiento geográfico tiene todas las ventajas de la naturaleza, especialmente el tranquilo y limpio mar que no ofrece peligro alguno para los bañistas y que se presta para el ejercicio de casi todos los deportes acuáticos. Sus blancas arenas de textura mediana hacen que no se adhieran al cuerpo humano fastidiando después del baño. El contorno es de colinas con vegetación cactácea que rodea y brinda un paisaje tranquilo e inolvidable.
