Album Info:
Some of the Birch Trees in the loop or Group camping area. Small maples are interspersed with the Birch. The middle portion of the Birch Trail forks off the main trail and parallels the old Lower Falls Road portion on a small rise about 40 feet above it. It then curves and proceeds downhill along a lovely scenic woodland path to the new Lower Falls road. If you started your hike at the first trailhead, the one with the map sign, and has ended here, you can trek back to your vehicle via the Gorge Trail, #1, by walking uphill until you see the yellow paint slash and arrow on a tree indicating trail #1 enters the woods there, follows the edge of the gorge then emerges close to the Birch Trail trailhead and your mode of transportation. .
