Album Info:

Huka Falls is the most visited natural tourist attraction in New Zealand. What it lacks in height (11 meters), it makes up for with sheer power and gorgeous colors. The powder blue color of the water is probably due to the mineral rich Lake Taupo, which has plenty of volcanic soil and minerals doing the dilution.

  • OH WOW!!! I love the colour of the water, it is so GORGEOUS!!! As you said it could be because of the minerals from the volcanic soil in the area, simular to our "Blue Lake" at Mt Gambia in South Australia, as shown in one of my albums.
